And 566 days pass...

566 days ago I started my blog! It was to be something to inspire me to keep plugging away at fixing up my home, saving and planning for Canadian adventures ahead...a journal of the progress. You could say, I am a bit shit at blogging! But the progress happened regardless...
In 566 days in a nutshell:
  • I did fix up that damn house (and when I say "I" it really means my Dad, my brother-in-law, my ex-boyfriend, my nephew, my housemate, the rest of my family, my friends - all the able bodied in my life)
  • We fixed that house good! It was FINALLY the way I wanted it to look after 6 years and then I promptly moved out and renters moved in. Sigh.
  • I moved to Canada in Dec 2010
  • I did the "Aussie thing" and moved to a ski town....had a fabulous time...met great people and spent all my money.
  • Moved to Calgary, Alberta. Cow Town. I've not seen one cow (except at Stampede and I reckon they were bulls anyway)
  • Did some grand Canadian sightseeing - slowly checking off the local beers, wildlife and attractions Canada has to offer.

Over 566 days I have worked out that although things can get tough (and they did at times) I have a pretty shiny life and I have some really random shit to share.

Hence the name change.

wooot woo I have a blog....what to do with it?

I signed up to be a blogger in May, inspired by my witty, clever, artistic, insightful and inspirational friends and their beautiful blogs.

My blog is more for me than anything else, I am not by nature an artist - so I will not have a visually spectacular feast - but so that maybe I can actually see that I too am "moving forward" (thanks Jules G) towards my plan.

I have not had anything to write. I have not felt inspired. I have in fact, felt less like myself than I ever have before.

This was the plan:
* * Finally renovate the unit I bought in 2005, with the plan to spiffy it up a bit with some tiles and paint.
* * Move to my parents house, to save money for Canada travels
* * GO TO CANADA by the 19th Feb 2011 - if I don't enter Canadian boarders on this date...the dream is over.

Seems fairly simple....not so much.
